Don’t put away that Halloween Costume just yet! |

By Penelope E. Davidsen With the advent of shows such as Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model, many of us are becoming armchair fashionistas, or fashionmistas, depending upon your sex. If you want to wow your son/daughter, niece or nephew, let them in on the latest trend. Goth and Punk styles are back on the scene. What you pick up at your local shopping plaza for a Halloween costume may show up on the runways as hip and edgy. Dressing up as a Pirate or Witch for Halloween? Give the outfit to your daughter and let her have a blast cutting it up and wearing it to the movies with friends. She’s likely to be the trendiest one in the bunch and you can have all the credit. Is your husband dressing up as Mel Gibson in Braveheart? Plaids and tartans are chic and classic styles that are back on the rise. This may be more palatable for some parents and offers something less revealing, but just as stylish. Show off your fashion sense to the younger generation and become their American Idol! |
